As this was the Board's first meeting of 2025, in accordance with ss. 36(1) of the CSPA, which requires the Board to elect the chair at its first meeting in each year, the Board elected Councillor Shelley Carroll as Chair, and Chris Brillinger as Vice-Chair for 2025.

Yesterday, Chair Ann Morgan joined @TorontoPolice to recognize Crime Stoppers Month and announce the launch of an Illegal Firearm Awareness Campaign. Through this campaign, the public plays a pivotal role in removing dangerous firearms & enhancing safety in our neighbourhoods.

Today, as Detective John Park is laid to rest, we join @TorontoPolice and the police community across the country in honouring an excellent, dedicated police officer, a devoted husband and father, and a dear friend and colleague who was loved by so many. May he rest in peace. 💙

The Board is extremely saddened by the tragic on-duty death of Detective Constable John Park of the @TorontoPolice Hold-Up Squad. Our thoughts are very much with the family, friends, colleagues and loved ones of Det. Park as we grieve his devastating passing. 💙

Today, we joined the @TorontoPolice & community for a Menorah Lighting at Police Headquarters. Board Member Nick Migliore spoke to the importance of the Jewish festival of lights, and of the need to nourish and support meaningful partnerships with faith leaders across our city.
