Today marks #Setsubun, the day before the start of spring for many Japanese people around the world. The most commonly performed Setsubun ritual is the throwing of roasted soybeans at home and during ceremonies at temples and shrines to drive out demons. #TLDSBfamily

The Presentation of the Lord is a Christian festival honouring the presentation of Jesus at the Temple of Jerusalem, and Mary’s purification after his birth. Also known as Candlemas, it is tradition to celebrate with lighted candles, and to have candles blessed.
