From 1-14 July there is a celebration of mathematical tessellation in Bristol. Aperiodic is inspired by the discovery of the first non-repeating tile shape - 'the Hat' - last year. Featuring dance, art and music - all welcome, including schools.

Recently PGRs Aynur Dadashova Mammadova, @dinara19astana, Hsin Chi Huang and Silvana Santos gave a TLC roundtable on challenges faced in their PhDs, from participant dropout, to travelling 3 hours in snow at -30°C to visit a school, generating a vibrant discussion. @SOEBristol

Can plants make music? This week there's a FREE exhibition upstairs at plant shop Oak & Reed in Hotwells, where artists have connected electrical sensors to plants to enable humans to hear the signals plants generate as music eg as their leaves are touched
