I hate fear mongering and I am a student pilot. So I’m *barely* qualified to answer this. It’s pretty simple imho, the crash in DC was the first commercial flight crash in the US in nearly 15 years. So that’s not common at all. Then the Lear, I don’t know the statistics on them, nor does anyone know what happened (yet, let the NTSB finish their investigation before we try to say stuff). But it’s safe to say that isn’t very common. The rest? These are fairly common, but the precedent of 2 very uncommon things are making the common ones stand out much more. Things happen, jet engines are very delicate, very fast things spinning in the real world, meaning stuff gets in & sometimes that stuff is enough to destroy it and cause a fire etc. Small plane crashes are, unfortunately, quite common. Especially in less regulated airspace.

@the_transit_guy I’m genuinely curious by this observation… spent a majority of my life in Southern Baptist or SBC-adjacent churches and “gender-specific” Bible studies are the exceptions, not the norm. Maybe a summer study is, but a majority of groups are not gender specific in my experience.

@BleedBlueCasey I mean, the obvious pick is Anthony Davis, right? Erases a lot of defensive shortcomings of perimeter defenders. Can handle and pass at the top of the key in the Amari Williams role. Lethal in pick and roll scenarios.
