Mesmerizing rainbows of colour dancing like opals in the sky ~ it’s hard to think of something much more magical than the #aurora! Here are a few of my photos of the #northernlights during the historic #solarstorm on May 10th from Victoria, BC. #yyj #Auroraborealis #geostorm

A massive swell slammed into the coast from California to Alaska on Dec. 28th, bringing with it monster waves of epic proportions. Swell heights off the west coast of Vancouver Island, where these were shot, reached 20 ft/6 m! Such power & grace. #bcstorm #pacificstorm #bigwaves

This is huge - literally! Canada's most impressive tree located in Ahousaht territory in Clayoquot Sound, BC. This massive #oldgrowth redcedar measures over 17 ft (5 m) wide near its base & 151 ft (46 m) tall, with a trunk that gets wider as it goes up! 🤯

Springtime in the luscious Mossy Maple Grove west of Lake Cowichan in Hul’q’umi'num territory. Like something from a fairy tale, this rare and spectacular grove is home to super shaggy #oldgrowth bigleaf maple trees adorned with thick mats of hanging moss.

The top crest is a female Thunderbird, representing female ancestry & connection to the supernatural. The totem also bears four ominous skulls representing the multiple pandemics and losses the Nation has faced.
