TISA urges the government to broaden the tax base fairly, support farmers & SMEs, and stop punishing those already struggling. Tusiishi kulalamika tu, check our submission on the fiscal budget for the FY 2025/26 👉

PWD Traders Demand Justice: Governor Sakaja, Will You Deliver? Today, traders with disabilities took to the streets, demanding Governor Sakaja hear them out. The county has ordered them off main streets, pushing them into unsafe, inaccessible back alleys. Their demands? 1️⃣ A direct dialogue with the governor to address their concerns. 2️⃣ An end to harassment by county officials. 3️⃣ The right to work in safe, accessible spaces not overcrowded back alleys. 4️⃣ Immediate return of confiscated wheelchairs and assistive devices. 5️⃣ Clear directives ensuring their inclusion in county planning and policies. H.E. Hon. Sakaja stepped out, listened, and has called for a dialogue tomorrow. Will action follow, let's wait and see.

🚀 Happening Now: Phase 2 Launch of Strengthening Rural Governance for the Right to Adequate Food! We’re live in Vihiga County, where our Program Officer in charge of implementation, Sheila Lyona, has set the stage with a powerful presentation, highlighting the urgent need for action and reflecting on the successes of Phase 1. 📊 The Reality 🌍 1 in 5 people in Africa face hunger—more than twice the global average. ✅ Phase 1 Achievements 🌾 Empowered 23,700+ citizens in Vihiga County on their food rights and entitlements. 🗣 Hosted sub-national and national food systems dialogues, including a food policy and systems study focused on Vihiga County and the Lake Region Economic Bloc (LREB). 🤝 Engaged H.E. Governor Wilber Ottichillo in a dialogue that gave citizens a platform to shape their desired food systems. 📜 Partnered with Vihiga-based CSOs through the Lake Region Food Systems Network (LRFSN) to influence the 3rd Generation County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) pushing for: *Strengthened agricultural extension services. *Functional market systems *Development of value addition centers. *Enhanced grievance redress and accountability mechanisms. 🌱 Established the Lake Region Food Systems Network (LRFSN)—a coalition of 27 organizations across LREB counties working to transform food systems, ensuring access to sufficient, nutritious food while centering smallholder farmers and rural communities in policy discussions. 📍 Stay tuned for more updates from the launch. #RightToFood #FoodSecurity #TISA #WHH #StrengtheningGovernance #NoOneGoesHungry

In a bold stand for freedom, the High Court has just struck down Nairobi's protest ban, reminding us that our voices matter and cannot be silenced. 💥 This isn't just a legal victory, it's a triumph for every Kenyan who believes in the right to speak up, challenge injustice, and fight for a better tomorrow. Key takeaways: 1️⃣ The blanket ban on protests failed to meet constitutional standards. 2️⃣ The press statement restricting the right to protest until further notice was ruled unconstitutional. 3️⃣ The requirement for a designated protest leader to cooperate with police was deemed unconstitutional. In a country where power often tries to quiet the people, this ruling is a powerful reminder that no one can take away our right to protest.✊🔥
