Polidori had spent time with the Shelley's and Byron one summer and to amuse themselves they all agreed to write horror stories. Mary and Polidori (who was Byron's physician) were the only ones who completed their works, although The Vampyre is at least partly based on Byron's idea but was written by Polidori. I had only heard of Frankenstein coming out of that summer's visitation. You would think the origin stories of two of the greatest monsters in fiction being so closely linked would be mentioned more often in English classes.

Why when their parents and grandparents abandoned those places in hopes the Arabs would eradicate the Jews? There has never, in the history of the world, been a people with less legitimate cause for grievance than the "Palestinians" and it is hilarious watching you make up excuses for not taking the bloodthirsty little savages in because you know full well they have tried to overthrow every government which allowed them in as refugees. Even Jordan and Egypt wall them off. Now is your chance to show the world just how wrong they are and take them in. Go ahead... have a go at it.

My mother had to pick blueberries during the Great Depression and in return for a summer's worth of work received a pair of shoes. Another relative from the same generation picked cotton, and they were both white. My father was pulled out of school to work the farm until he ran off and joined the army for WWII. Both our families made a better life for the next generation. That is America. But I bet that was not the point he was making.

There is always the big ask at the start of a negotiation so that the window of what is acceptable moves. His speech is always transactional in nature.
