The arrival of the inaugural flight in the Turks and Caicos Islands at Providenciales International Airport since TCI's borders re-opened. 72 passengers disembarked American Airlines from Miami International.

Today the People of the Turks and Caicos Islands mourn the passing of former Deputy Chief Minister Honourable Hilly Ewing.
TCIG today wishes to honour his memory. The country's flag has been lowered at half-mast and will again be lowered on the day he is laid to rest.
Use of beaches and individual watersports can resume from 4th May for the purposes of fitness and recreation. Strictly no gathering of over four adults may occur. Any gathering must be of those living in one household. No alcohol should be taken onto or consumed on the beach.

Powers and for a nation-wide curfew to remain in place until June 22nd. This curfew will begin now from 10pm on June 1st to 5am on June 22nd
The TCIGovernment is finalizing a development agreement with Carnival Corporation which will facilitate a $25 million investment in the port and the return of cruise ships.

An agreement has been made with Cuba and this agreement is being advanced for 20 persons to assist TCI. The delegation will consist of 9 medical specialists, 10 registered nurses and 1 administrative support staff.

Today, the Premier and leaders from other British Overseas Territories attended the UKOTA Political Council Meeting. The Political Council provides a platform for the BOTs to collaborate on matters relevant to them and devise a plan to engage the UK Government.

Providenciales will undergo a delay to the start of Phase 3 of the Phased Re-Opening of the country.

TCIG is allocating an additional $4M for the RTCPF:
• $1.5M will be used for equipment and additional manpower
• $1.5M to build a hangar for the new surveillance aircraft being donated by the UK government.

HAPPENING NOW: The Re-Opening of the newly refurbished Oseta Jolly Primary School and the opening of the Cecily Rigby-Ewing Early Childhood Development Center, Blue Hills, Providenciales.
What will change: A limited number of key government departments will reopen on May 11, 2020, to provide critical services to the country. This will be done on the basis of a reduced staffing and customer service plan that allows for appropriate social distancing.

As of 9 May 2021, a total of 19,515 persons in the
