USAID LPHS Ankole, Dreams program gave start-up kits to adolescent girls & young women in Mbarara District & City, to help them start businesses for Financial independence and reduce vulnerability for HIV acquisition. Kits included cameras,tool boxes and retail shop items.

29th Nov 2024: In partnership with USAID SBCA @obulamuUganda, USAID LPHS Ankole engaged local and religious leaders in Mbarara to raise awareness about Mpox. As key community influencers, leaders play a crucial role in disseminating accurate information to create awareness.

Buhweju District, with support from USAID LPHS Ankole & Acholi Activity, implemented by TASO Uganda, was ranked Uganda’s no.1 district in achieving key TB indicators.  This was during the 7th Annual TB & Leprosy Stakeholders Conference held at Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort.

USAID LPHS Ankole, in partnership with #USAID UHA & #USAID KCHS @TPO Uganda, hosted a GBV dialogue at Kyezimbire Primary School, Isingiro, to sensitize communities on Gender Based Violence to enhance referrals for care & support.  Together, we can end GBV in Ankole.

Today, at Ongako, Omoro district we graduated 71 adolescent girls & young women #AGYW under the @PEPFAR #DREAMS program thru #USAIDLocalPartnerHealthServicesAnkoleAcholiActivity. Out of these, 48 were trained in tailoring, 6-craft shoe making, & 27-hairdressing. @usmissionuganda

In this period, USAID Local Partner Health Services Ankole and Acholi Activity implemented by TASO, will work with stakeholders to sensitize, educate, screen, treat & refer GBV cases across the region

Services to high risk populations are sometimes offered at night (Moonlight activities) for those who are not able to access them during the day. USAID LPHS Ankole & Acholi appreciates collaborating with Mbarara City Health office & local health facilities. @USAIDUganda

We are very grateful for a donation of 300 bicycles from World Bicycle Relief @PowerOfBicycles . Our community workers outreach interventions in Jinja, Gulu and Soroti will be greatly boosted with this support.
