Bittensor TAO - How does Bittensor work? 🧙♂️🧑🏫🤖 We dive into some examples to understand how it all works. Big thank you to @simioape for sponsoring this video! This video wouldn't exist without his help. He's one of the OGs. #bittensor $TAO

$TAO is the base coin, the " $ETH " needed to buy subnet tokens. Except with one big improvment over $ETH: $TAO's monetary value is the sum of the value of all it's subnets put together. You don't get that with $ETH.
We are definitely thinking similar thoughts ... $TAO is the base coin -- the 'ETH' -- needed to purchase subnet dTAO tokens (coming Monday). It is the coin of the realm. During the ICO boom, you needed ETH to buy the ICO coins. Same dynamic.

Not to necessarily pick on anyone in particular, it's important to be open minded about the possibility that you're wrong about $TAO. However, almost every critique I've seen of $TAO shows that the author doesn't actually understand the network. Anyone seen any good critiques?
We are talking emissions vs the weight of what they are producing = value received back to the network

Valid points. Root stakers fit the description you've provided. Subnet stakers also fit the description except instead of losing money if bittensor fails, they also lose money if their subnet fails too. For this extra risk they get higher APR. With regular non-bittensor stakers, they dont actually provide much value to the network other than locking up funds to reduce sell pressure. Subnet stakers actually provide value to bittensor, accelerating it.

Rendering this highly anticipated 2hr video... my poor GPU is strugglin, if only there was some sort of decentralized network that provides cheap GPUs... Prolly unrelated: Don't worry, the #bittensor $TAO miner course is nearly done. Having a buddy audit it, then it'll be out.

@KeithSingery Yeah, I've been wondering if valis will eventually do kickbacks to their stakers.

Under-appreciated subnet right here. The traveling salesman problem (TSP) is when you need to visit a bunch of destinations, and you're not sure what order is most efficient to visit all the destinations (like a package delivery driver). It's a simple problem, but very hard to come up with the optimal route that optimizes for time efficiency. Even a handful of different destinations makes determining an optimal route computationally impossible. So we go with our best guesses based on heuristics. This subnet rewards miners that come up with the best solutions to the problem. Needless to say, it's outperforming thanks to #bittensor's permissionless global competition. For large companies like Amazon, UPS, Walmart, shipping, etc, finding optimal solutions to the TSP means big $$ savings, which means eventually, purchasing access via $TAO / alpha tokens to this #bittensor subnet will save them money and increase their efficiency.
All logistic problems will be solved under incentive. Crazy to see this edge expanding over all other commercial competitors Graphite S43
