My first pair of knitted socks, finished! ( Yes, I do understand how to match the stripes, but I had to add new yarn halfway through the second one and simply made a mistake.) But I don't mind about that. I KNITTED THEM AND I LOVE THEM!

My daughter tried on my mother's wedding dress from 1955. It was...perfect on her. She has no immediate plans to get married but even she said if she ever did, she'd seriously consider wearing her grandmother's dress.

Scott took a professional photo of the latest pair of socks I have completed. They are made with West Yorkshire Spinners sock wool, in the colourway "Thelma." I had to buy the wool when I saw it, because my Mom is Thelma. These are for her, of course!

Latest off loom. Was helping a friend learn so we both did some. We had so much fun with these colours! Many, many imperfections (much learned, also!) but it still somehow manages to be beautiful. ( I still need to snip ends, etc.)

Tigerlily is gone. We had to have her put to sleep today. In the end, she was gasping for air. It all happened so quickly. She graced our lives for the last ten of her fifteen years, and she was a beautiful, smart, funny, excellent cat. I am in absolute pieces; we both are. 😢😢

I had a moment like this recently. In a charity shop I found a very famous, niche-interest book that is impossible to find these days - and if you do find it's big bucks - for only 20 pounds! Snatched it right up, ran home and looked up all the ones selling for 75, 80 pounds.

Ok, catch and release means just that. The dude caught this fish, took a photo, and then released it back to the sea. Fish was probably traumatized but will live. Having said that, I think this sort of show- offy bullshit is totally unnecessary, and dude should re- think it.

I never get over how fabulous Bumblebee's markings are. Not to mention that he has the thickest, softest coat I've ever felt in a kitty! He's a rescue from Cats Protection, but I like to think he may have some British Shorthair in him. Sturdy, cobby body and round head, too!

My darling baby Tigerlily went in for teeth- cleaning but didn't pass the kidney test for anesthesia. So we are waiting to hear more about that. She was just put on meds for hyperthyroidism. She is a lovely, smart cat . We will make sure she never suffers.

Meet the newest members of the family! Black panther Iris is 18, and tortie and white Cocoa is 16. They are the sweetest old gals imaginable. They just want to sit on a lap and be petted or brushed. They purr at the drop of a hat. Just need to ease Bumblebee into new reality!

Hello! I am Tigerlily. I am fourteen. My Mummy thinks I am beautiful and she especially loves the orange blaze on my forehead. It's extra-clever in that it indicates just where I like to be petted. How handy is that? Of course I also love behind the ear and cheek scritches!

My husband can take the most unflattering pictures of people. He sent me this one of Bumblebee the other day. If Bumblebee could talk, I can just hear him - "OH MY GOD. Look at my double chin! Do I really look like that?" ( he doesn't.)
