I pray a LOT! And I eat 20-30g of carbs per day, plenty of protein, and plenty of fat. No calorie counting. Got off paroxetine after 25 years and I feel peace. All labs normal, no more pre diabetes or HTN.

We’re never too old to change. I started eating one ingredient foods (especially meat & butter), praying for help SO THAT I can help others, lifting weights, walking in the sunshine, loving my family, practicing gratitude, ditching doctors and pharmaceuticals, and it WORKS! 🙌🏻

I’ve been in ketosis nearly constantly for 26 months. Down 133 pounds, normal labs. The BEST PART is my mental health improvement. I took Paxil for decades….got off about a year ago, easily. I sleep from 9 pm-4 or 5 am. I see the sunrise every day! Life is so wonderful! Ketosis

I’m part of a very small (20-30 adults, roughly) rural church. We meet at 8 am every Sunday, and after worship we all have breakfast together in the church hall. We take turns bringing food. We are a very tight community of believers who all do life together. It’s WONDERFUL.

I would advise keto and intermittent fasting. Less protein (but still enough), plus fat and very, very little carbs. This is what I did. Down 125# in 16 months, age 64.

There’s not necessarily another “problem” — she’s an alcoholic. Some of us are seemingly born this way. Many of us have alcoholic parents. Go with her to an AA meeting or 2 or 3 if you want to help! It’s not necessary to solve all underlying problems to stop drinking.
