I just want to make note for those that asked. Adaman does not wrap his arm and hands for fighting. If he were, the tape would go between all his fingers(not one) and wrap around his knuckle multiple times. Adaman's knuckle are exposed essentially when he clenches his fists.

Kintsugi is a Japanese art technique that repairs pottery using lacquer and gold dust. Adaman also has similar gold veins running through his clothing. The character designer chose to express Adaman’s connection to time by relating him to a kintsugi pottery piece.
