@olsonplanner You don’t need to worry about quarterly payments if your income increases from the previous year which usually happens with resident moonlighting. If withheld tax is atleast 110% of the previous years tax owed then quarterly payments are not needed.

@insight_owner @YacoobSajjad @bobdudas I had a 80 yo test positive for RSV incidentally because our test looks for Covid, Inluenza and RSV. It only matters in very young kids (<3) and even then the test result doesn’t change treatment

@olsonplanner Don’t open a Rollover IRA for a 401k when you leave a job. Either leave it at your old job (if allowed) or move it to your new jobs 401k ( if allowed). Rollover IRA will mess up the backdoor Roth

@ElsPRNBA @olsonplanner Roth - Taxes are paid on the front end so you get tax free growth and withdrawals on the back end. Traditional - you pay taxes on the withdrawal. People will always debate on which one is “better” but it’s good to have a pool of both.

“Misleading” is taking a hundred year old life saving drug and charging outrageous amounts of money. Who knew a $7.99 check mark could be worth $20 Billion

@Dr_Oubre Instant gratification - Money shows up weeks to months after that interaction while the satisfaction from a good interaction is instant.

@olsonplanner I would add HSA to your list of accounts. It can serve as a retirement account and a cash account (save your health related receipts). Hard to beat tax free going in, tax free growth, and tax free withdrawals. The bonus is when employers contribute money.

@AaronLacyMD Marcos for Procedures. Most people have macros for ROS and PE but don’t realize macros can be saved for your common procedures where 90% of the boxes are prechecked. My laceration note pretty my requires location and length the rest is pre-completed.

@amyfaithho @zachjarou @AaronLacyMD Same here! If your hospital system has builders then work with them. If your system doesn’t have (paid) builders then advocate for a builder program

@anotherdoris @jesmina @fuzzymittens I highly doubt she wants her job back. Many others won’t want her job either. She just wants to life back.

@meganranney Sad day for nurses and healthcare in general. We can all make mistakes which can trigger a series of unintentional tragic events. Why allow override if it’s so dangerous because the SYSTEM is not perfect

@ShohamTxID @EricTopol @JAMAInternalMed @DartmouthHitch The “Untold” part is usually by design to fuel the beast of our procedure hungry system. All the bean counters start panicking when Covid cases climb not because of Covid but curbing of elective procedures.

@efunkEM I think looking at the physician group while scribing would be interesting. My hypothesis - less likely to go into EM when working with a large corporate / PE backed group
