A huge thank you goes to the Suffolk Farmers who’ve been assisting us in our snow clearance today; using their expertise and machinery to help our teams keep the network safe and moving.
@EADT24
Hi all, Gemma here.
Communications Officer/ Winter Operative.
I will be joining my colleagues this week on the 12 hour shifts. I’m going to provide you with updates when I can on each break.
Shout out to the 12 hour shift workers, day in/out (not just winter time). 👏🏻
Huge thanks to our incredible
#Suffolk
Farmers!
We’ve had some unwavering support from over 25

We couldn’t do it without your commitment and community spirit. Thank you!

👷🏻♂️ Whilst our gritters are treating the roads, they are restricted to travelling at 40mph. Beeping your horns or driving closer to the gritter will not make them go any faster.
Please take care & be mindful that our teams are trying to make the network safer for you all to use.
Huge respect to our teams working on

's roads in this weather! Sadly we've had reports that they’re receiving verbal abuse. Please remember they're working 8 hours with hot materials, in full protective gear & very little access to shade - breaks are essential
#UKHeatWave
⚠️❄️ conditions across
#Suffolk

We’ve been working throughout the night to treat the priority road network, however we’re up against snowdrifts, stuck vehicles and impassable roads.
Please do not travel unless it is essential.

We tackled several obstacles during our gritting runs last night, assisting trapped vehicles and clearing high levels of snow. Here are some photos of our colleagues braving the cold. We are continuing to work hard across the county to keep the main roads clear.
Goodnight from me. The last priority 1 route is now complete, ready for the next shift to take over at midnight.
All the best to my teams across the county.
