As our last visitors make their way home to England, we are happy that we have been able to share this beautiful experience with so many family and friends. In 4-weeks, we will be heading home too after our year in paradise. Safe journey @MorseJoann and Steve.

Walk along Le Chaland beach yesterday - very hot here in Mauritius at the moment

Notre Dame de la Visitation church. Built in 1864, this Catholic church is on the Royal Road in Vacoas, close to where we lived in 1970-1973. It has an ornate bell tower, that was added to the church building in the 1930’s.

Day 292 - busy day today. Early rides, morning at Le Chaland beach, home for lunch and some pool time; showers, change and afternoon at Bagatelle Mall, having tea out. Home for Christmas music, and a few games. Merry Christmas 🎄

Day 290 - nipped to our local waterfront, where pretty boats, with brightly coloured sails, billowing in the wind, race around the bay, in Mahebourg Regatta. What a fabulous spectacle. Lots of market stalls and food stalls along the waterfront too. ⛵️

Day 282 - relaxing at home in our beautiful garden and pool. Tim bought me some red roses… it’s our 31st wedding anniversary tomorrow… and we said no cards or presents. It was a lovely surprise 💕

Day 281 - a walk around Pointe des Lascars spiritual park, then to Grand Gaube. We have the beach to ourselves and a beautiful view of this small bay, and the offshore islands. Above our heads, tropic birds swoop low, their long tail plumes flowing behind them.

Day 280 - fabulous walk both ways along St Felix beach. Casiarina trees, beach, sea, boats, flowers, shells, picnic lunch and people watching. Bought a fan for the dining room on the way home. Sunny and breezy - perfect Mauritius weather 🥰

Day 279 - rain and cloud all day. Phoenix mall, shops, fish and chips at the ocean basket, then to Mauritius Glass gallery, where I bought a stained glass Christmas angel. Great way to spend a rainy day.

Day 277 - lovely walk along Tamarin beach, then along the forest path towards Wolmar, crossing streams, and stopping at a small, isolated beach area, where driftwood adds real ambience. On the walk back, we see surfers 🏄‍♀️ riding the bigger waves.

Day 277 - lovely day at Le Chaland beach - then home to try to keep cool on the pool. The water in the pool is 34 degrees today - so quite warm. Lovely day 💕

Day 276 - cloudy and drizzly but still 29-degrees. Tribeca Mall - Christmas displays, shopping, lunch, then enjoying the garden and the wildlife. Sunday dinner and a G&T to end the day. Beautifully relaxing.

Day 275 - today I cancelled my website (increased cost by 730%) Instead I will post a summary and some photos. Today has been quiet as I have been doing charity work. This evening we walked to the Christmas market at the mall.

Day 274 - 3-hour walk along Pointd’Esny beach with the big camera. Fabulous views. Low tide and great view of the Dalbair shipwreck. Lots of fish, and some unusual sea creatures. The colour of the sea today was just stunning. Amazing day…

Day 273 - a day at Le Chaland - scout camp, swimming, picnic, people watching, relaxation and absolute peace

Day 272 - a quiet day with cooler weather today 24-27-degrees. Lovely wander around Bagatelle mall, coffee and cake at Paul’s, and found some real treats - Branston pickle, cranberry sauce and mint sauce.
