@SteveNomadic Could be. Although direct clearances do not really require an active CPDLC connection.

@scottiebateman Dunno. The aircraft flies the TCAS RA or emergency descend automatically anyway. Entering a clearance from CPDLC is just one button press, easy to remove that.

@SteveNomadic I became aware of this when I started glider flying at 14 years, ages ago. One day the conversation turned to that subject and everyone, bar one, was afraid of heights. The one was originally as well, but had to train himself off it as he had to inspect spy towers at the border.

@grinsekind008 Richtungsentscheidungen. Aber ich muss in der Hierarchie nicht alle Entscheidungen bis ins letzte Detail treffen. Dazu muss ich die Freiräume für andere schaffen.

@Autopilotuser Hmm, wir bekommen nen pack overheat im non operating pack wenn wir nur einen benutzen (wenn es sehr warm ist und der Wind falsch steht).

@MaximalesD Kenne es aus meinem Bereich, bin da selber der Klugscheisser vom Dienst. Les die Threads immer gerne. Im besten Fall lerne ich was, im „Schlechtesten“ Fall ist es interessant.

@40PercentGerman In the USA I got told that „Streichholzschächtelchen“ would be impossible to pronounce. But yes, German has some weird sounds the hard ch like in „Achtung“ seems to be quite unique.

@trimikecanada @flying_steve As it’s a CCQ it could be as simple as 3 simulator sessions (including the check) plus some line training.

@FatimaDuerden @SimonCalder Not that easy (no pun intended) for airlines. They get fined €3.000 to €5.000 per passenger that gets refused by immigration and have to transport them back as well.

@SteveNomadic Considering that the FAA is not only the regulator and authority, it is also the sole ATC service provider, already trying to do too many things at once. It will be interesting to watch how that unfolds. Aviation has lots of regulations. Most of them written in blood.

@Sutherland3131 Vor der Wahl? Keine Ahnung, mache keine Umfragen mit, die wollen immer was verkaufen. Bei der Wahl? Ja, da ist immer jemand der exit-polls macht, aber meistens für einen der anderen drei Wahlkreise.
