Isn’t it amazing that some cops spent tens of thousands of dollars for a college degree that literally did almost nothing for them but won’t spend $100 a year on training that would save their life.
Never ever has an emotional knee jerk reaction solved a complex issue. If you’re the person in charge you need to embody this and learn to calmly resolve any challenges without any emotional influence. Be true to yourself and show up like the person you would want to show up for you.
Some cops are out here having so much fun being a cop that they can’t believe someone would actually pay them to chase cars and run lights and sirens to emergencies. You would be surprised how man would do it for free because they love it .
I just saw a Georgia Highway Patrol dodge challenger with a complete wrap around pit bumper on the front of it. This is what we call administrative support.
It’s amazing how many agencies deny training to their people because of budget issues but will have to cough up $150k a lawsuit settlement because their personnel weren’t trained.
I just want to say to all the newer men and women in blue who have to work during the Super Bowl tonight and didn’t get to watch the big game with their friends and family….stop bitchin, we all had to do it. Pay them dues and quit complaining.
The number one thing cops are looking for when choosing to transfer to a different agency is administrative support. Such an interesting concept that a human being wants to work for people who give a shit about them.
Not every little thing a police officer does needs to be transmitted over the radio. So before you speak ask yourself “does this matter.” If it doesn’t please shut the f*ck up. Someone could be shot and in need of help but keeps getting stepped on because of you.
Run this through your head 10X a day as a cop: “If I have an emergency and I need help immediately I will key up the radio, identify myself, give my location and provide the emergency call code. I will then listen to acknowledge that they heard me and not assume they did.”
It is highly recommended that you actually know case law before you claim that you know what you’re talking about. It doesn’t take long to figure out if you have any clue what you’re talking about.
