So at work, a playwright I know was working to finish her play and we talked for a moment and I offered advice- mainly keep going and cut later- but talked show and craft. Later, another guest, who had be sitting nearby, came up and thanked me for the advice she overheard. (more)

When I was a kid, my dad would put on music (piano or orchestral- no lyrics) and would ask me "What's HAPPENING in this song?" and "How does it make you FEEL?" I created stories and told them back to him. Thanks to him, I've been writing stories to music my entire life.

So I’ve been writing a mystery novel about a “haunted” theatre. My editor told me to beef up the “show within a show” plot. Characters- Ari, Agnes, Megan, and Calvin - perform an original new musical comedy- so I made a song list and pitch…and now I kinda wanna write IT too.
