LONG DISTANCE LULLABY
What does this one mean to you? Last to be written for the album. crafting those brass parts in the lead up to Christmas... we wanted that drunk sound, so we slowed the tape down by a quarter-tone!

It’s REALLY TOUGH
making music sustainably;
#earthday
is a moment for industries INCLUDING music, to pause & consider the impact of their activities on the climate. Like many artists we’re making nature-infused music whilst touring a diesel vehicle, which doesn’t feel right…

The percussion you hear on record is literally a kitchen sink! we’d reimagine it on stage using a crazy tin djembe that toured with us to Australia & America, surviving all the way thru to The Farewell Show.
So pointy & jagged by the end, a wonder it didn’t cut open Tom’s hand!
The video for ‘It’s not up to you’ was filmed in the beautiful Wytham Woods, which is where Brian got his first job after leaving university, as a field assistant studying Great Tits as part of the longest continuously running study of a wild animal population in the world.

[NEW ALBUM OUT THIS FRIDAY] has provided us the opportunity to evolve the way our physical records are manufactured and supplied. Polyvinyl chloride doesn’t have to be fresh for the sound quality to be just as good; you can make it from recycled other plastics.
If you’re missing the great outdoors these days, here’s a little something to take you back... find 2:20 to give it a spin / tune in to your inner nightingale.
I made this song with
