❄️📕 Jan. 27-31 is Family Literacy Week in Saskatchewan - a week to honour the importance of literacy in our province and spotlight the ways families can reinforce classroom learning at home. Global Saskatoon visited Sutherland School to interview principal Dana Babey on ways families can help support the development of strong literacy skills. Some of her tips: 👉 Ask your child to identify letters, sounds and words while running errands. 👉 Take time to point out interesting vocabulary that you may see to build their language skills. 👉 Add letter and alphabet tiles or magnets to your kitchen table or fridge. 👉 Make reading a family routine.
