I took a potshot of the Orion Nebula a while back, when we last had clear skies! I used a bog standard camera and a 70-300mm lens. Exposure was 2 minutes with the camera on a tracker.

The full Snow Moon will rise tonight (Wed Feb 12th) around teatime in the UK. It should look pretty spectacular as it rises slightly before sunset, so will be surrounded by the colourful hues of the Belt of Venus #fullmoon #SnowMoon

If you get chance to see the moon this evening, you may also spot the red planet Mars, as it’s right next to the moon.
