Bari Weiss' entire schtick is pretending that unseen forces are preventing her and those like her from making the exact arguments that she's making, right now, in the exact venue where she's making them, right now
This is a Trump statement, but… Time Warner hasn’t owned cable systems since Spectrum bought what used to be Time Warner Cable. There isn’t even such a thing as Time Warner anymore, it became WarnerMedia when AT&T bought it. All of this happened while Trump was president!
NEW!
President Donald J. Trump:
“Time Warner, the owner of Fake News CNN, has just announced that they will be terminating a very popular and wonderful news network (OAN). Between heavily indebted Time Warner, and Radical Left Comcast, which runs Xfinity, there is a virtual…
Losing the Oscar gig was totally the end of Kevin Hart’s career, with the exception of the three movies he’s been in since, the five more in the works, and his new multipart Netflix series about his “cancellation.”
Clearly, Jordan Peterson's ideas have been so marginalized by the mainstream that he's... been the subject of four different major magazine profiles in the last two months.
It's gotta be hard to get a job on the New York Times op-ed page when you're a never-Trumper who hates the Iran deal and is really, really angry about overzealous college kids. Probably because they've got four different people like that already.
“Trump could be our party’s Iraq War,”

. “I wonder if four years from now we are nominating someone who had nothing to do with the Trump era.”
Not only is Blazing Saddles about white racists being mockable imbeciles—it’s about how richer, more powerful white racists solidify their power by exploiting the prejudices of less powerful white racists.
It’s how Trump won in 2016.
What is about IN THE HEIGHTS that's "woke," specifically? That it's about non-white people? Because if you think that's what "woke" is, and you think "woke" is bad, then you're kind of giving the game away. x
This is true too! I've been hearing for nearly a decade that "the left is going to ban BLAZING SADDLES," but examples of them ever actually trying to do so are quite light
@StephenSilver
I've heard like two no-media literacy people complain about it in my entire life, but legions of conservatives saying "Oh no cancel culture is coming for this movie!"
quirk in PA primaries compared to other state -- home county of candidates is listed on ballot. So to the extent there are regional trends, the information provided on the ballot to voters can help explain it
A shame. I was hoping David Koch and his brother would both live long enough to get driven into the poorhouse by a sudden swing in the price of frozen concentrated orange juice futures
What’s craziest about this is that Fake Deadspin got a rare scoop a year ago and completely bungled it- and then the real story got broken by an NYT guy, Kevin Draper, who used to work at Real Deadspin
Historically, the first film in a Star Wars trilogy is the top grosser, the second film is the lowest grosser, and the third film takes the second spot. This has happened twice in 42 years. No reason to think it won’t happen again this time.
Blazing Saddles, a movie that still is pissing PC police off some 50 years later. When Mel Brooks die I'm sure it's getting vaulted. Y'know. It's wacist, lmao.
Also- there is a huge amount of distance between “there’s some stuff in this movie from decades ago that’s a little dicey by today’s standards” and “that movie should be banned”
When I spoke to Robert Kraft, he made this analogy about Tom Brady's departure: "Think about loving your wife & for whatever reason, there’s something - her father or mother - that makes life impossible for you & you have to move on but you don’t want to."

GLASS ONION was a special deal they made to give it a limited engagement. It was, I believe, the first and only time AMC and Regal theaters showed a Netflix movie after they boycotted all the previous ones.
NBC News: At least 5 men have been charged in a federal case in Michigan tied to a plot to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
The men are identified in court documents as Adam Fox, Barry Croft, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris, and Brandon Caserta.
CRIMES OF THE FUTURE- Not quite sure why this one sits with me right now, except that Kirsten Stewart's performance is absolutely glorious. A triumph of understated acting.
My
@Delta
flight from Phoenix appears to be flying migrants who crossed the border and are being shipped to New York
When I asked a Delta representative if this was the case, his response was “What does it matter, they’re humans too”
What is happening????
1. In Delaware County, Pa., where I live, the police union VP posted to FB: "If you choose to speak out against the police or our members, we will do everything in our power to not support your business."
People protested and his borough has suspended him
The cop then posted...
Remember when they had jets fly overhead in every American city, and called it a "tribute to health care workers"? I was just thinking again about how ridiculous that was.
Go woke, go broke. Like the NFL, who in 1991 took a Super Bowl away from Arizona after it rescinded Martin Luther King Day. After that, the NFL never made any money ever again.
Time Warner canceling is the final nail in the coffin of OAN. Trump: “I believe the people of this country should protest the decision to eliminate OAN .. Demand that OAN be allowed to stay on the air!”
BREAKING: Donald Trump melts down over Time Warner's decision to drop the far-right MAGA propaganda outlet OAN and urges his followers to "protest" the termination of a "very important voice" and "demand" that it be put back on the air. RT IF YOU SUPPORT TIME WARNER DROPPING OAN!
1990: Time and Warner merge
1995: Time Warner buys Turner
2000: AOL buys Time Warner
2009: Time Warner Cable spin
2009: AOL spin
2014: Time spin
2016: AT&T buys Time Warner
2021: WarnerMedia merged with Discovery
My favorite thing about Pat Robertson: The Family Channel, the network that he built and that broadcast his show The 700 Club, has morphed into Freeform, which almost entirely shows woke, queer-friendly shows that lead directly up to his.
Yes, it's very important for the 23 Democrats running for president to all speak monolithically, and never criticize one another. That, and that alone, is the path to victory.
Democratic lawmakers fear the 2020 Democratic presidential primary field is becoming a circular firing squad, with Trump winding up as the beneficiary of internecine fighting
In case it’s not obvious, Trump really likes the Jussie Smollett case because for him and his base it fits into the Trumpian/Fox News narrative that racism against minorities is fake but racism against white people is real.
CNN is so dishonest. Today we took reporters to a detention facility on the border for families and children and all told us they were being treated well.
Mississippi received $429 million last year in federal infrastructure funds specifically for water lines & pipes and I’m wondering what we did with all that?
This is an important point at the crux of a lot of these debates: In America, when people try to "silence" their political opponents, they nearly always fail.
@StephenSilver
I didn't say EVERYONE was trying to silence them. The silencers are honestly most likely a minority, albeit a very LOUD one. And many casual observers just take the word of whoever's the loudest. Meaning many people have very skewed perceptions of what these individuals believe.
Not so surprising that the guy whose most famous song is about how there was never any good music again after Buddy Holly died in 1959 doesn't like the current stuff.
@Nicole_Cliffe
I covered the consumer electronics industry for years, and yes- that happens constantly. Another common thing is Geek Squad employees getting caught searching young womens' laptops for nudes.
An under-the-radar story right in my backyard- a bunch of Delco lunatics falsely accused a voting machine supervisor of rigging the 2020 election, and he sued them (and Trump). I hope James Savage ends up owning Trump Tower
Rachel Maddow and others say TV shouldn't carry Trump's briefings because he lies and misleads. Why some liberals, who cast themselves as champions of free speech, now want to suppress speech
"The anger out there in these red states is so deep and palpabale that GOP legislators may have a difficult time seating Biden electors,” Fox News’ John Roberts casually says on air
