Abby is out from her procedure. She is recovering and doing awesome!! It took a long time but they believe they fixed some arrhythmias that they found. She will be monitored for the next couple of days to see if any future procedures need to take place. Rocking it!

4th AAU Game in under 48 hours. We know how this goes. Players tired. Missing shots. Offensive Struggle. Ugly play. Refs not engaged. Parents getting emotional.

Can’t slow her down!
Abby has been released from the hospital! We are headed home! After a week of careful monitoring and recovery, doctors feel confident that Abby’s ablation procedure was successful and no defibrillator needed at this time. She has recovered remarkably!!

Advise to High School players looking to play in College:
1.Have an academic or social tie to a school. Coaches are more likely to invest in you if you value the institution above athletics

All the High School coaches I know, invest so much time and energy into coaching. They do a great job but it is a grind of a season. I think there has to be a better way.

Players need to create an IDENTITY not a BAG. Coaches want reliability. Higher the level, the more the ball is OUT of your hands. Learn to play without it. Stop training counters, shots, and situations you will never use. I scored over 2000 points in college. I played

I think the easiest way to go about it is incorporating rules when you play live in practice. Be creative. Limit # of dribbles. Need a paint touch. No Ball Screens. Switch sides of the floor. Players will figure it out.

Coaching jobs are on the line. Most won’t risk offering an athlete a scholarship off a couple good weekends or even a good season. They will wait to bring a kid on campus. Put them in their system. Have them compete with their players. Then the real evaluation starts. Kids

Truth is it’s hard to fully develop without playing but you need a balance. If you are sacrificing weight room and skill training sessions to save your “legs” for games then your balance is skewed.
Too much 5v5 with the same kids, same coach and same role will absolutely stunt

Agree 💯. There needs to be a natural progression from youth, HS, College, and beyond. Every level is different and needs to be guided as such. Worse thing for development is to start training, coaching, and officiating the same way that the .001% play.
AAU needs to scrap the 24 second shot clock ⚠️ - A 30 second shot clock is ok but a 24 second shot clock is too much of an adjustment for high school players.
One pass shots. Threes off the dribble. Walking the ball up the court so there’s only 8-10 seconds to run any kind of
