@MyDumbAlias @smashbaals I would say teaching is what happens in Sunday school. You learn Scriptures and what they mean. Preaching goes a bit further. A message is given based on Scripture, and while the understanding can be included, the message also tells us how we are to *act* on the Scripture.

@farmingandJesus The context of the entire 2nd commandment is not to make graven images *to worship them.* God does not forbid art. Moreover, He instructs that cherubim, creatures of heaven, be depicted in the Tabernacle, and allows Solomon to put statues of cherubim, oxen, etc. in the Temple.
