@suttonbaggie @MarkAbel_28 I wasnāt allowed to go short by one former manager and told it was a fine each time a CH headed one of my goal kicks. One of our CHs left and came back with another club. He swapped with their LB for my first goal kick and stood there grinning at me! š¤£

@MarkAbel_28 @suttonbaggie I genuinely think we are one of the worst fanbases for it. It wonāt change though. Weāve plenty who havenāt realised yet that we will retain shape out of possession rather than flying into tackles. Itās only been that way for the last 25 years, so I guess we need to be patient.

@MarkAbel_28 @suttonbaggie Hopefully some day it will get through that Furlong being strong in the air gives us a great out ball (as with Dawson), but some will inevitably go out if theyāre a yard off or under challengeā¦ but this is preferable to it coming straight back into the heart of our defence.

@guesty_14 @conradchircop @WBA @SemiAjayi @DarylDike I think so, but thatās second hand so donāt quote me!

@MarkAbel_28 @suttonbaggie We routinely destroy goalkeepers, right back to Stuart Naylor running out to warm up at Old Trafford before his debut as a new signing, to a chorus of āone Tony Goddenā from the away end. We havenāt improved since through Kiely flicking the Vās at the BRE & every keeper since.

@MarkAbel_28 @suttonbaggie Top then heading rapidly āļø Shame he didnāt weed them out, which was the job he was given, and instead slit his own throat with rigidity and ridiculous itineraries etc. Hopefully TM sees through those still/back here who manage to put a shift in as just contract renewal looms.

@MarkAbel_28 @suttonbaggie Iāll trust Moggaās judgement around whatās best for him long term. I said that before TM anyway. You keep mentioning MāVila in relation to Sam Fieldā¦ SF to QPR: Jan 21/perm May 21 JMV: 3 mth deal from Feb 24 Even by your standards, thatās one hell of a stretch š¤¦š»āāļø

@MarkAbel_28 @suttonbaggie He wasnāt performing miracles in any way shape or form. He had no 9ā¦ but rigidly tried to force a system that totally revolved around an effective 9. However unlucky he was with Dikeās injury, heād totally lost the plot and the dressing room by then. It was a shambles.

@MarkAbel_28 @suttonbaggie We went exactly where we were rapidly heading under Val. Field needed to get away as it wouldnāt have happened at Albion. Delighted heās building a career, but like Wood, we need to let go. I agree that CT should be, but heās not there yet, so is in the right place for now šš»

@MarkAbel_28 @suttonbaggie Fact is, Wildsmith (after Holgate) was your deflection from Taylorās FA Cup mixed bag after hanging your hat on him. As soon as JW was starting, it was obvious youād be looking for any chance to double down. Youāll fight til you die on the hill as always, just like Val & Sam š„°

@MarkAbel_28 @suttonbaggie Heās fine and clearly saves it without Windass. KBās body shape/back turning a bigger issue. Far more concerning is yet another fan desperate to jump on a #wba GK for doing nothing wrong, even on League debut. We donāt deserve good keepers given the shocking way we treat them.

@VOS_UK Thatās top of the list. Next would be sweeping and kicking a ball clear on the edge of the box or just outside while sprinting at full tiltā¦ with someone (usually a striker upfield) shouting āpick it upā, when that would have made it a 50/50 or worse š¤Æ

@w_phillips21 @sjpatel212 His blocking technique was poor when he got megged and there was an awful short passā¦ which AP also had in him every so often. Itās not lack of effort, but thereās an inevitable difference in focus covering as confirmed #2 in the cup compared to the shirt being up for grabs.

@MarkAbel_28 @suttonbaggie Heās in his peripheral vision at point of contact on screenshot 1. They are coached to favour near post in that scenario, with covering defenders expected to cover far side netting to make the goal smaller. Note Holgateās woeful attempts at Luton & Derby, but many criticised AP.
