Obadiah’s a great villain who works for the story. He represents greed, capitalism, corruption- 0 qualms selling weapons. A dark reflection to Tony. The personal connection as a father figure adds a layer to their dynamic
They could’ve expanded on Stane’s past & not delete this
Obadiah is a pretty generic and mediocre villain but compared to some of the more recent stuff he seems like a masterclass. Comprehensible motivations? Functional implementation into the story? Solid foil to the protagonist? Unheard of.

Civil war comics are terrible. Over the top and poor characterisation for everyone involved.
Meanwhile the mcu version gives Tony and Cap both reasonable arguments and is a natural progression on both of their character arcs up to that point.

My hope for Fall of X is that the Avengers and Fantastic Four discover they all die if Nimrod and Omega Sentinel succeed in bringing about the machine ascendancy. For the first time I want the other heroes to know they are fighting for their lives just like mutants are.
