Badgers 🦡 have loved our ‘States of Matter’ topic, during Science this term. They have mastered the art of observing and recording different changes to states of matter, over a period of time. I think they particularly enjoyed experimenting with (and eating) chocolate buttons!

Number day fun in Eagles class. The decimal battle was a big hit in Year 6 today and a great way to build on our understanding of place value with numbers greater than 1 with 3 decimal places!

Look at Y6's amazing work this afternoon! We learnt about Inuit soapstone sculpture and had a go ourselves on blocks of soap! 🐧🐋

Foxes 🦊 have been exploring materials and looking that their properties. We went outside to look at what objects were made from more than one material. Foxes were great at finding examples. They then used pictures to label the materials and their properties.

Foxes have been exploring materials in Science. Here we were looking at whether materials could be bent, twisted or stretched.

Wow year 2 you were amazing during maths. Each cuddly toy had an envelope and the children had to work out how much each one would cost. When we went through the answers you amazed the adults with your knowledge of the value of coins and your addition skills. You were AMAZING!

Hedgehogs were visited by Jade a volcanologist this afternoon. Jade delivered a presentation on how volcanoes work, carried out several experiments and then answered questions. Well done 🦔 what a fantastic afternoon!

As we have come to the end of our Algebra unit, Y6 created their own algebra museums using resources and the representations we have looked at. They showed a great understanding as they had to work backwards from a solution to work out what their question might look like. ☺️

Y6 enjoyed starting our new art topic of Inuit Art today. We have been looking at different examples of prints, paintings and sculptures and have been reflecting on what themes they represent. We compared our ideas and started to think about the colour patterns and shapes.

Year 5 did some brilliant writing in RE today. We’ve learnt lots about Ramadan and fasting and enjoyed writing from the perspective of a Muslim during this time. ☪️🦉
