@MinnOrchia @UnderMirkWood @jk_rowling I suppose it’s too much to ask how you’re defining “women” in that sentence, but I’ll ask anyway. How are you defining “women” in that sentence, please?

@HJoyceGender Oh, he doesn’t want to be *validated* - he just wants to be *respected* by women role-playing their validation. That’s totally different. Doesn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable or anything. What a tool.

@Tachardiella @jk_rowling “Hey - he don’t got no clothes on!” Out of the mouth of an immature child with no filters nor sense of propriety & decorum, sometimes comes truth.

@MadameTashaV @jk_rowling I think many parents simply can’t stand to see their child unhappy & they cave in - especially if the kid is acting as if their entire world is ending & there are ubiquitous messages out there saying yes, it is. This whole gender = core identity nonsense must stop.

@WomenReadWomen @jk_rowling Those “results” could cut both ways. He‘s apparently suggesting that boys objectively rated as “pretty” are more likely to have been born trans, but could be that they’re more likely to be treated as if they were girls so they pick up that message & come out with a trans identity

@KnownHeretic The man who got the face tattoos wasn’t told by society that doing this would make him much more employable & attractive to the general public. Ppl who get sex-trait modification, however, are reassured that this will make them pass well enough to belong to their target sex.

@Parabolic2025 @JamieWhistle Question: assume that 15 years from now 50% of kids identify as transgender. a) then it‘s primarily a contagion b) then it turns out being trans is common & valid Which way are you inclined?

@SarahTheHaider Behavioral scientist Cory Clark has a theory that the cultural rise of women increased emphasis on evolved female-linked priorities: safety, empathy, grudges, harmony, etc. Women as nurturers tend to frown on ppl not being kind. Might be relevant.

@ptiyo38 @SarahTheHaider Perhaps “don’t throw rocks at that idiot with the dick on his head“ gradually slides to “don‘t throw rocks because he’s not an idiot,” but there are rational stopping points in between. If children are taught not to call names, we’ll always feel guilty when we do.

@SarahTheHaider The example he gave though was one which presumably harmed only the person who chose it (assuming he was now obligated to wear a Fruit-of-the-Loom bandana on his head. Doesn’t that keep it within a moral theory?

@redheadranting I think most of it was fueled by an understandable desire to continue on the path towards more freedom, more individualism, more civil rights, more compassion, more harmony - till it went way past the point where ppl had to pull back & see the big picture. They were on a roll.

@realSeanScott @GarethSage @FondOfBeetles @ManhattanInst I don’t know. Do no other men share it? Might there be environmental factors? Is the study sound, and has it been replicated? The study’s from 2008. My guess is that, like many studies in general, the findings didn’t stand up. Otherwise, research would have concentrated on it.

@realSeanScott @GarethSage @FondOfBeetles @ManhattanInst A trait is only a “female” trait if it’s exclusive to females. Many men have traits which are more typical of women (i e short height) without us saying they’re not absolute males. Causes for dysphoria are complex, but even what’s not innate will be found in the brain.

@Sylvia_Adams99 @FondOfBeetles @ManhattanInst The “we’ve got scientific evidence that shows we’re trans” is on a collision course with both “children know who they are” & “believe us.” An actual test could potentially have an outsider telling someone “you’re wrong.” The principle of self-determination will win over science.
