In the span of 30 years I've seen the discourse go from "cartoons are for children" -> "Japanese cartoons are inferior" -> "Japanese cartoons are awesome" to finally, "Western cartoons are calling themselves anime to let you know they're good".
The ‘TOMB RAIDER’ anime will release on October 10 on Netflix. Starring Hayley Atwell as Lara Croft.

In Wizardry 8 there's a questline that can only be completed if you're carrying an item that you can only get in Wizardry 6. This means you have to use and import said party across 3 games and keep that item on your inventory

I can think of no great example than this episode of Batman TAS
Even as a Kid, you could tell when a cartoon was animated in Japan. You'd watch something like Tiny Toons, & suddenly the animation quality would skyrocket. I see the stuff TMS did in the 80s &, it's so fluid it makes me wonder how it ended up being made in the first place.

15 years from now we'll have Gen Alpha youtubers and social media users treating Half-Life 2 as if it were some obscure game that had zero impact on the industry . You can quote me on this.
When Valve created Half-Life 2, I’m not sure this is a future anyone could have predicted. Yet, here we are.

This game has now gotten hundreds of negative reviews because it's missing a language. Imagine review bombing an indie dev because of this.
There are many ways to ask tiny indie devs to add localization to their game. These requests can be polite or rude, but leaving a negative review for missing localization is one of the worst approaches. I pay localizations from my pocket, and I hate blackmail practices!🤬🥺🤢

The N64 did not lay the foundations of 3D gaming. The sooner we end this myth, the sooner people will stop calling the N64 "overrated".
You don't get to justify being a knee-jerk edgelord on the back of something that single-handedly laid the foundations of 3D gaming. I was there. In the industry. Mario 64 was beyond a synergy. It was a true creative vision. The flaws only highlight its genius.

I love how indie games started out with vector graphics, then moved to 8-bit, 16-bit and now 32-bit. I'm all for this. Can't wait until we start seeing indie PS2/Dreamcast/PSP graphics.
Cold and Afraid | My PS1-Style detective game, is approaching 2 years of development. I'm working hard for a 2025 release. Can't wait for you to play it. #ps1 #psx #indiegame #indiedev #coldandafraid #Retro

The Sega Saturn was right all along.
Fun fact: Most games try to avoid transparencies because it can tank performance and lead to render issues with effects. The common solution? Really thin dithering! The jar on the left is using dithering while the jar on the right is actually transparent. 🧵(1/2)

@PersonalSleep_ Screams self awareness was so fun. It was parody without affecting the horror.

The only download source I could find for an English patch to this castlevania game came from a youtube comment with a link to an abandoned discord server.
Discord servers replacing forums must be one of the worst things that happened to the internet. We traded what was an eternal scrolls of knowledge available to everyone for what can only be compared to a medieval market bulletin board, locked behind a stupid app too.
