Prof. Mbazira was removed from position of Principal school of law at midnight before election day in order to make him ineligible to contest for a position in the University Council. The winner was part of the board meeting that removed Mbazira. #MakerereUniversityExhibition

@AAgather this post could benefit from cross checking the facts. The procedures of these processes are laid down in ink. Save yourself the speculation of who could have been on the panel. @MathiasSsemanda @MurangiraGord #MakerereUniversityExhibition

About the DVC AA, the position had a very able holder, Umar Kakumba. I’ve never met him but I’ve never heard so many excellent reviews of anyone like I have about him. For the 5 years he was in office his reviews were excellent. The VC evaluated him yearly and gave him high scores (the lowest was 95). When he applied for a renewal of his contract, they (this is usually the Chairperson Council, VC and about 3 members of Council; Bruce Kabaasa and Sarah Ssali being the main ones) first tossed him for months and later said he hadn’t performed well. A strange below average mark showed up as his performance score. About 20 of the 24 members of council were shocked. They were all outraged. Some members had already seen the previous scores but even those who hadn’t knew that Kakumba was a star performer. In the words of one council member, “Kakumba’s issue made them look shabby. They couldn’t even look us in the eyes but they wanted him gone.” He was eligible for a second term just like the VC! #MakerereUniversityExhibition

One professor told me there is only one thing he prays for before he goes to bed; that there will one day be a forensic audit of all associate professors and Professors at @Makerere. It seems the problem is widespread. #MakerereUniversityExhibition

I was invited by @TheJNLC and KAS, yesterday, to share my thoughts at the launch of their one-of-a-kind publication, ‘The Form and the Substance of the 2021 Elections’. The publication offers a comprehensive look at the 2021 elections. It's truly a well-crafted piece of work.

Facts are what I put for you there Dr. The VC according to this document is the one that directs HR on who to recruit and who to exit. So I think you are the one sharing opinion here. #MakerereUniversityExhibition

Our Country Representative @annareismann1 points out that, while the 2021 elections were calm, they were not peaceful. This underscored the need for deeper analysis of the events surrounding the elections, leading to the creation of this publication.

All matters of HR @Makerere start & end with the Appointments Board, whatever any other official may think/desire. Hence, the appeals to the Appointments Board Chairperson. Only the Board recruits & exits a worker. These are facts, not opinion. @MathiasSsemanda @MakerereNews

You mean the same Appointments Board where people solicit bribes to put issues on the agenda? Also in the case of John Jean Barya it doesn’t look like it was not a prerogative of the Vice Chancellor, as shown in frame 2. I think a college head is better placed to know whether a lecturer has met. the minimum teaching load and his engagement in research than a VC. #MakerereUniversityExhibition
