In Today's Questions Hour in the Lok Sabha, a request was made to Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to increase the number of insurance companies and include more crops under insurance coverage to ensure the speedy disbursement of crop insurance to farmers. Out of nearly 200 crops cultivated by farmers in the Palanadu region, insurance coverage is currently provided for only around 60 crops. Additionally, the number of insurance companies operating in this sector is limited—only 5 in the public sector and 15 in the private sector. In response, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Ji Chouhan positively acknowledged the concerns and assured that the union government is always committed to improving farmers' lives. #Agriculture #CropInsurance #FasalBimaYojana
