Pro Fill . Looking for Duos.๐๐ฃ
I just hand leveled an account for the first time in 7 years, and I can confidently say League is a truly awful experience for new players and I'd discourage anyone from picking up this game. 1. Leveling to 30 is extremely tedious. Even with the XP boost given to you, you'd have to no life the game to level at a reasonable pace. Someone who plays the game casually could legitimately take a month+ to hit 30. 2. New players are heavily under resourced and unable to try/find stuff they like. Unlocking champs is difficult, and there is 0 system in place to try champions to see if you'd like them other than the free to play rotation. For example, players should have access to every champion in practice tool to see if they like them, and then buy them since the purchase isn't revertable. Also, runes and summoners are gatekpet by levels for no explainable reason, just to add value to progression which doesn't make any practical sense. 3. Swiftplay is legitimately an unbearable experience with new player MMR. 90% of the games are bot lobbies, and if you do ever run into a real player the swiftplay mechanisms giga scale them because of how many resources they get, so they are unbelievably fed and unplayable against. Furthermore, because you need to play 10 swiftplays to unlock draft and ranked you are forced to learn the game through the swiftplay rendition of the game compared to regular league. 4. League's toxicity is the highest I've ever experienced it. Every ARAM I played was filled with giga toxicity, pinging, spam ffing, etc. The culture around the game is awful, and while I'm not trying to soap box/preach about not being toxic, it's not something I'd encourage someone who doesn't play league to introduce themselves to. 5. The tutorial/new player experience does not explain how league functions as a game at all. It's streamlined to be as speedrunable as possible. There is no explanation of lane assignments, jungle, itemization, etc. and while it's fine to have your game require a hands on approach to learning, their tutorial does not even attempt to explain all the basic aspects of league. That's my rant. It's kinda disheartening because I love League but the direction Riot has been taking the game over the past few years is eerily reminiscent of Overwatch to me. I hope there's a push to make League a more approachable game from both the gameplay and cultural side of things ๐
