Rebellious teachers interested in children’s and YA books that touch on gender identity and sexual orientation but are not “primarily and explicitly” about these topics, I’ve got recommendations for you.
The only small comfort is that only regulating materials “primarily and explicitly” about these topics could serve as a good loophole for rebellious teachers. Incidental and indirect discussions of gender identity, sexual orientation, and human sexuality are expressly allowed.

A genuine honour to be on the jury for this award. I learn so much from the stories Canadian and Indigenous authors tell inspired by history. This book exemplifies the value of historical fiction.

@SmithTheTeacher @GraphixBooks Sometimes I read something popular and wonder why it’s so popular. It’s a treat when i read something popular, like Heartstopper, and get it. It’s immediately recognizable why this series is so beloved. Beautiful work.
