Now she’s dried off, Hazel’s kid from yesterday is a gorgeous blue roan 🥰🐐

Another tricky birth but Hazel is very proud of her daughter and seems to have forgiven my necessary assistance

@fforrfidelma WARNING, GRAPHIC RESPONSE… If the kids are coming incorrectly presented, they cannot be birthed naturally & can require caesarean. If you catch them quickly you can sometimes correct it but mums are quite small & often one’s hand is too big to get inside… time is of the essence

@_QuickFang Normally east, but Pygmies are small so if the kids aren’t coming in the correct position are problematic to correct

The snowdrops outside the sheep shed always lift the spirits in the depths of a muddy murky winter. They are gradually spreading down the bank

@sisalgirl At the moment they are coming inside at night as the weather has been so vile. There are just a handful in this group for show lambs. My main flock starts lambing in 3 weeks
