Happy to join @LegalAidNC in supporting the annual Design Derby hosted by the @DukeLawTech, featuring teams of NC law students tasked with rethinking an important legal product.
Our Innovation Lab teamed up with law students at @DukeLawTech for the Future of Contracts Design Derby. Using human-centered design, they tackled real problems, envisioning a brighter future for contract practice.

The system is not broken. It is working as designed.
Public Defenders need to go on strike nationwide! Speedy trial no longer applies. Gideon no longer attaches in over 50% of cases. Brady is not ensuring proper disclosures. Courts are not holding fair trials. Judges, lawyers, and officers are not held accountable. Staffing levels cannot keep up with the demand. Funding is being actively reduced. Police funding is growing at a record pace. Mass incarceration needs to be a talking point in every election year. Authoritarian control of the Justice System is complete and unchallenged.
