Two years ago today I brought my husband home from the hospital, after successful surgery to clip a sudden brain aneurysm. You wouldn't know it now except for a pretty cool scar. And man it's been an epic two years. Hug your people. Take that trip. Apply for that job. Live.

I'm ending my fourth year of not drinking. It's still awkward at industry events and dinners, especially when I can't have orange juice & I'd rather not have high sugar pop/soft drink. But it still suits me better, so here's to year 5!

5 years ago today, my husband developed a massive headache & neck stiffness while on a bike ride.
It was a brain aneurysm.
Yesterday he cycled 110km.

Appearance - It's so hot we're all melting but it's a dry heat.
Reality: Day 3 and I've yet to see the sun. The conference rooms are -23 degrees & the 20 mile hike from my hotel room consists of 3 casinos & 2 shopping malls.

Now: Accepted a permanent full time role as a bicycle mechanic & is leaving I.T.

" dream & booked flights. Now they're sitting at the airport waiting to join me in Canada (then onto LA). One day there won't be one more day. Now to enjoy the fruits of a yr of hard work.

12mnths ago today I signed the paperwork consenting to my husband's emergency brain surgery for a ruptured aneurysm & waited the longest 7hrs of my life. Today we took our girls to play mini golf & cooked dinner together. Grateful doesn't begin to describe it.

This year I'll celebrate 20 years of marriage to this wonderful guy. Sometimes it's children-wrangling, sometimes it's sharing our frustrations and sometimes it's just grocery shopping at our local store. I hope we get to do life together for at least another 20yrs.
