Many fans think soccer in the U.S. began with the 1994 World Cup in the US or the kick off of MLS in 1996. There is a century of history of great players and stories to be told

MLS lacks one thing that other countries have: a celebrated history. You build that by honoring your past. From clubs to league, that essential building block to fandom is relatively ignored. IMHO could be a symptom for the general apathy in the vote.
