I just called my boys into the room and told them the Coyotes are gone. I can’t do anything but cry now. We will support our boys in SLC but it will never be quite the same. I held both of those boys in my arms at their first game. This fucking sucks. Years of hearing
Since I am in a wheelchair, I came through the Zamboni doors to do the Jerseys off the players back. I was there with this women and all the other skaters who come out… they were hugging and crying before they went out… it’s real people affected when a team moves.
#Yotes
For those of you who have never heard of Mesa Arizona, it is currently ranked 36th in US in population just ahead of KC at 37th and Atlanta at 39th. Oh and for those of you convinced that the 4th biggest city (Houston) needs a team, Phoenix is 5th largest.
So my Yotes family… this might be the tweet that we need to share. Even according to the most dire reports, a decision has not be made. Let’s let
@MrXavierAG
&
@ArizonaCoyotes
know that we want our Coyotes, expansion isn’t the solution. Retweet and Share.
#KeeptheYotesinAZ
Insults of my fandom because I happened to live in a desert. I stuck with them even though there always seemed to be an obstacle in the way of any success. I’m mad. I trusted and trusted, but honestly at this point, these players and the employees deserved better. Treat
So much to process tonight… I know some people like autographs, I like hand shakes…. Tonight I shook the hand of:
Josh Brown
Lawson Crouse
Clayton Keller
Shane Doan
and
Logan F’ing Cooley
Probably need to take a twitter vacation…need to be positive to be on here and I just can’t do it right now. The Coyotes mean everything to me and my relationship with my sons, my brother and my parents. It’s what we have always shared. I’m just worried that is gonna go away.
Just gonna throw this out there… I know there are a lot of frustrated Coyotes fans out there, many swearing off supporting them in any fashion… if you are thinking of throwing out memorabilia, jerseys etc, my sons 15 and 19 and myself would love to put them to good use…
I’ve pretty much been off Twitter since I checked into the ER on 12/15/20. Covid has kicked my ass and I’m truly lucky that due to the care I received and a lot of luck that I’m still alive. I may start talking about the process. It’s not for the weak hearted.
#CovidSUCKS
To my Coyotes fans- a question & please feel free to share as much as possible.
Would you pay
@CraigSMorgan
to cover the Coyotes on his own- blog, etc.? I think he would consider it if it is financially sustainable. After all he has done to keep us informed- it’s worth asking!
My biggest disappointment in the aftermath of the Coyotes leaving is the “Pack” telling the “Pack” how to fan. We all have different situations and if you want to root for the boys in Utah, or the team in Utah, or for expansion… it’s your choice. I feel like my loyalty has /1
Ok Coyotes fans… auction is coming up. What is the most Coyote thing that could happen that day? Looking for funny but expecting all the craziness…
#Yotes
Wow… this isn’t even history repeating itself. This is a step down from the beginning years of the Coyotes, which was what led to the terrible trail they went down.
Season tickets for Utah's NHL team's first season go on sale Friday.
Of note:
— There will be 10,000 unobstructed seats
— An open house will be held over the next 3 days for fans to pick seats
— The 16,000 capacity will only be used for "select" games
Note to fans (maybe Chicago)… if you are going to call our Arena something less than it is…. Maybe minor league, high school, bantam etc, please make sure your team doesn’t play at the level mentioned. Nothing like giving up 8 unanswered.
#Yotes
The coolest thing about being a Coyotes fan is that every few years I get many new members of the pack & many others disappear due to lack of success. But a shoutout to my diehards, my optimists, those who stick through it. They played their asses off today… I’m ok with that.
Well, it’s my birthday and my coyotes rep called me with a great deal on handicap tickets for tomorrow… I think I might have an Angel with Coyotes connections… so I’m taking my son and going with my parents to see Mr Josh Doan make his debut!!

Exciting news... after 16 years of teaching, I will be leaving the classroom. I will be the new Assistant Principal for Student Success (APS) at Alhambra High School. It’s going to be a new challenge and experience. A bit scary but I’m ready for it.

It’s the exit strategy. If it wasn’t they would just get the permit. Placing blame elsewhere. Wow. Nothing is certain but that looks like the end of the Muruelos IMHO
Coyotes fans…it’s grim and it’s likely that SLC will be the new home. I have absolutely no facts to say anything otherwise, but I know my role on this team. I’m supposed to be overly optimistic… it’s what I do. So, here’s the thing, until Uncle Gary says diff, we got a chance.
Coyotes fan…through and through.During losing streaks, bad owners, small arenas, leaking arenas, long drives to arena, restricted view seats, lack of talent…that’s who I am. I’m also eternally optimistic so sorry if I’m not on the trade em,blame em,fire em train. It’s just me
Just so I have a recap of hockey in the motherland…
Toronto can’t pay taxes
Winnipeg has attendance issues and threats from owners
Ottawa can’t figure out how to complete a sale
Everyone wants out of Calgary & Winnipeg
Montreal fans threaten top draft pick
For those of you in Utah who keep expressing how bad Coyotes fans are “attacking you”… this is the stuff I see as I follow Utah stuff while supporting the team. It’s going both ways people…and completely unprovoked.
And it’s not just this owner, but 28 years of owners who sucked. But the narrative was always not a hockey market. Glad people are seeing it and saying it! Hockey belongs in the desert.
It's kinda crazy that people can't see that ownership is what separates the Vegas Golden Knights from the Arizona Coyotes
Bill Foley has wanted Vegas to be a winner since Day Effin' One, proclaimed Cup in 6 and he delivered
Alex Meruelo left Shane Doan's banner in the garbage.
I know there will be tons of Leafs fans at Mullett, hell I put my tix up for a ridiculous amount and they were bought… but it raises a question? Why are so many people paying 2-3 times face value to see a game in “an embarrassing college arena”?
#Yotes
Seriously… it’s just a sports team. But it’s meant so much. Losing the Coyotes hurts. In all fairness, it hurts more than I when I went through amputation. It just sucks. My family loves sharing the Coyotes… it just sucks.
Ok Coyotes fans… what is your dream moment for 6/27/2024???
Mine is after all the overly crazy moments in our history, it turns out there is only one bidder. Alex lifts his paddle at $68.5m. Hears sold and says “I sure as shit won” on his way out. Then we drink!
Tempe Mayors that support voting YES on 301,302,303
Harry Mitchell (D)
Neil Giuliano (R in office, D now)
Hugh Hallman (R)
Mark Mitchell (D)
Corey Woods (D)
These are the mayors that Tempe has trusted to lead them from 1978-Present. All agree this is a great deal for Tempe.
Taking the info I have seen, the Coyotes likely started the application for this land last June. Kept it quiet. Got a letter of intent to buy land in Mesa. Told fans/media that their next comment would be once they purchased land. Watched media/trolls/fans badmouth them for
Thanks for the email
@Tempe1st
… no, I will not be donating to you. However, I think it did make me more motivated to help out
@Tempe_Wins
and spread the word. Vote YES on 301,302,303 in Tempe.

Taking out your frustrations on the people of Salt Lake City makes you no better than the Winnipeg fans who hated us and held that grudge for years
This is about ownership and higher-ups, not us fans of hockey
Coyotes game with my dad tonight… taking on the additional reality of wheelchair accessible but excited to be back at Mullett. My normal seats were exchanged for ADA seats, I’m sure Canada will call it an empty arena as a result.
Just a question… why is the article quoting the Scottsdale Mayor being circulated by out of towners?
I bet they didn’t read it. He’s complaining about traffic. Wait how can there be traffic if there are no fans.
Tell me you don’t understand the Coyotes Arena & TED deal.
“You live in (city not named Tempe).”
Right, we are the people who will be coming to Tempe and spending our $ and paying taxes to support Tempe. You who live there only have to if you want to.
Vote YES 301,302,303
There may just be a young coyotes fan with her dad (my assumption) sitting in my season ticket seats since I had to move to ADA seats. Who said losing your leg didn’t have value, I’m growing the fanbase!!
#Yotes
Coyotes lost. Sky is faking, won’t win w/o Hayton. Veggie sucks, Schmaltz is unwatchable. Dumba is the worst dman ever. We sound like Toronto. We were tanking for
#1
a year ago. We went 2-2-1 on an 11 day trip (we won 7 road games all last year). I love you guys, but breathe.
If you are a coyotes fan- now is the time to let the Tempe city council know about how much money you would spend in Tempe. I will be writing emails to all council members tomorrow- please consider doing the same. Be courteous, be honest, explain how hockey is worth it.
Per sources, the Coyotes do not currently have the votes in the Tempe City Council to approve their $1.7 billion arena and entertainment district proposal.
Story⬇️
Interesting thought…I understood the Coyotes fans who said they couldn’t root for Utah. But the outright tearing down and criticizing of GMBA by people who swore support for him makes me think I’m gonna see people rooting for Cooley, Guenther, Keller, etc to struggle. Not a fan.
For my longtime Coyotes friends IYKYK… they have ordered my prosthetic leg 🦿 and it will be here and ready for me in…
TWO WEEKS…. 2 Weeks, Two F’ing weeks… LFG, I’m so excited.
Thanks to
@pbrownhockey
and
@CraigSMorgan
for coming by and seeing me before the game. For those of you new to hockey or the Coyotes don’t take these cornerstones of the media for granted… great media members, great journalists and great people. Go Yotes!
#Yotes
Do you think most nhl fans know that their team doesn’t “have” an arena,they have a contract with an arena to play there? When Meruelo builds an arena,do we get to pick on all the other teams whose owners don’t own the arena as “not having an arena?” Asking for a friend.
#yotes
I love my Coyotes Pack… regardless of you demeanor or thoughts about this whole mess, we are showing up for each other today. I hope many of you stay to talk hockey and maybe even eventually follow our boys. Just know I’m not going anywhere.
Traditions are cool. Throwing an octopus on the ice when you are down 4-0 in a regular season game when it’s a playoff tradition and you haven’t been to the playoffs in years??? Dumb.
@spetershockey
Bud, you can't even spell Houston. 🤣
The billionaire prospective owner of an NHL franchise sent out a survey today asking fans for submissions on a team name, the way many expansion franchises have done since 1967.
And you think a couple fan blogs doing that is the same?
Day number two of reminding myself to be optimistic about the Coyotes. And as my dad always says… what’s the worst? The worst is seeing my team in another state and choosing to still love them. That’s my worst…yours can be different or worse, but that’s mine.
#CoyotesForever
I have two teenagers, 18 and 14. Both play hockey, I played soccer and coached soccer, so did my wife. Her and I are hockey parents. Our whole family can talk about a sport and a team together. It’s something we all share. It happened because of the Coyotes.
#Yotes
This is a detail that I think gets overlooked all the time in financial analyses of arenas.
How do you quantify civic pride, community bonds or a smile on a kid’s face, all of which come via sports?
There is no definitive number, but it absolutely has value.
It’s this simple… “I’ve seen sicker cows than this get well”-
@spetershockey
’s dad. Thanks to you and
@CraigSMorgan
and
@leahmerrall
for the sense of calm. Lots of steps to go and I’m done arguing with out of towners about relocation. I’m here to believe we are here…
#yotes
HS soccer also teaches players about being a freshman playing with older players. Teaches about school spirit, teaches about every one of the 20ish games mattering. Maybe teaches a different position and maybe provides a mental break while still playing. HS soccer has value.
Paid club coaches who need a monthly income (wholly understandable BTW, but there are other ways to do that) tell kids that HS ⚽️ will ruin them, too many games in a congested schedule & poor coaching.
Meanwhile I see some of those same club coaches having those same kids fly
The funny part is the people who will be paying for the TED and the Coyotes arena are people like me who live in Gilbert and would travel into Tempe, eat meals, go to games, buy merch NOT the taxpayers of Tempe. And I’m willing and ready to… just vote YES
#Yotes
My completely novice fan eval of Yotes last 2 seasons…
Keller became a star
Hayton arrived
Crouse is a legit mid6 wing
Maccelli is an unexpected
Moser great pick top4
Valimaki top4
Veggie is atleast 1B
Way more positive growth than negative growth
Guenther, Cooley soon
It’s amazing to me that the City of Glendale is suddenly seen as trustworthy... there are usually two sides to the story. If I’m a tenant and the landlord doesn’t live up to their obligations, I have two recourses- court or withhold payments.
#Yotes
On Sunday I tweeted that for the first time I felt disabled. Through some crazy stuff, I ended up taking my son to Josh Doan’s 1st game and my older son wore his 92 jersey for the 1st time to a game and saw his 1st hat trick. Fate….Makes me feel like the whole fight is worth it.
To my Yotes people out there… That 14 game losing streak was brutal and left many really and rightfully concerned. But in the end, we are likely to finish with more points than last year and a lot more experience for some really young players. The future is bright.
Going to the game. Going to be tough but what hasn’t been tough during my fandom. Went to game 1, will be at the last one. For my friends who might be there look for me, I’ll be the guy in the wheelchair on the ice after the game. Wearing a white Corkum Kachina from 96

The

I asked GM Bill Armstrong about the Coyotes' rebuild timeline and how he is measuring his team's success down the final stretch of the

"Our team will tell us when they're ready."

I’m not one for change… coached soccer in the same club for over 20 years, 20 years coaching in the same high school, worked as a teacher & admin in Phoenix Union for 19 years…but today I’m changing districts and accepting a new job as the Dean of Students at Tempe High School.
I know the narrative about AZ and the desert, but USA…
played in AZ-Keller
Born in AZ- M. Tkachuk, B.Tkachuk, Thompson
Raised in AZ- Matthews
Hockey belongs in the desert, in AZ. Just need the right ownership.
Today I march for my students, my sons Kaden and Conor, my wife Patti, the teachers who came before me and those who will come after me. I march for students I don’t know because I know their world and their struggle. Today I march for those who call me selfish and selfless...
I will be clear. I also represent Coyotes fans and I will not treat people in Utah, the way I was treated by former Jets 1.0 fans (not all but many). I love AZ but it’s not about the state, the geography, the people or anything else anywhere else. It’s about owners who sucked.
One year ago today, I was admitted to the ICU due to Covid. Spent 28 days straight and 58 days over the year in the hospital. Covid changed my life, but you can call it a comeback as I celebrate the one year anniversary of ALMOST dying. Guy on the left is stronger for it all.
Best Anti Coyotes argument I have ever heard… “it’s a 5000 seat arena and they only average 4600”…
Say you know nothing about the arena without saying it….
So another council member comes out in support of TempeWins… plus a 7-0 vote on sending this to a vote plus 42 years of elected Mayors in support of it. It’s almost like the people Tempe residents have elected to guide the city’s future agree this is a great deal.
Reminder Coyotes fans… Frank Seravalli believes Sidney Crosby owes the game more. Also remember Craig’s warning that national people don’t dig deep enough. So many mistakes in their articles.
Coyotes fans crack me up… must win games in November and how we’ve played terrible for a number of games. We have 4 points in last 4, 5 points in 5 and 7 points in 6… that’s an 82 point season. We’ve scored 82 points in a season twice in ten years. It will be ok!
As I've said many times. A new downtown building will reshape the city and benefit the Sens.
I saw this first hand with the Caps. We moved from MD to downtown DC. 25 years later the district area looks great, and the team has thrived.
LeBreton is so important to our city.
This was opening night at Mullett. This is my brother
@Smittyville19

This is why guys love playing for Andre. He hits the nail on the head. I love the excitement &I’m so excited, but I keep reminding myself that this is an opportunity for a kid who has earned it. When he was picked, people said it was because he was Shane’s kid. It’s bc of Josh!
"I understand for the fans there's the family history, but I don't want that to create any shadow over what Josh accomplished and how hard he had to work."
André Tourigny spoke about what Josh's NHL debut means to the entire Doan family, Coyotes fans and to Josh himself.
Thank you
@ArizonaCoyotes
… it’s been an up and down ten days, but we shared Xmas with my family and then tonight my dad and I went to the game. Been a STH since 97 but this one still meant a lot and I’m glad we won, but mostly I’m glad I was entertained and for a couple hours
This article includes so much information about Arizona hockey, many of the things Coyotes fans try to share with others. We get that we aren’t Canada or Minnesota but the progress is undeniable. Take a read.
I love this… Bear benched Cools last Friday. Held him accountable and now is praising him for what he wanted to see. This man is meant to be our coach as we grow this young team.
Please respond to this if you have been blocked by Ryan… I’m genuinely interested. Feel free to retweet also… I’m guessing I can come up with 100 blocks by him…
Just sent my emails to each of the Tempe City Council. The Coyotes have made a huge difference in my kids lives as hockey players. It’s the least I could do for my boys. Youth hockey is better with the Yotes here and would be even better with them in Tempe.
