Profitable? I’m not sure how much it costs to run AI models on demand 24/7, but I do know that every software engineer, directly or indirectly, spends at least $30 per month on development-related tools. A medium-size company with about 2,000 employees would pay $60,000 per month on subscriptions.

AI-powered IDEs are competing for the software engineering market. They are begging companies to use them for free. If you ask me, we are witnessing the early stages of AI products generating revenue.
