@kelvmackenzie But we expect Police Officers to be beyond super human. We expect very little of politicians.

On one point I agree with Wes Streeting. We should be raising our own Doctors. But the economics in the UK no longer attracts people to the profession, unless they are coming from countries with worse living standards. The only way to improve this is to make it more attractive for the bright and the best in the UK to become Doctors. And that means much lower work loads, and much better wages.

@kelvmackenzie 2 million illegals, but that will be on top of the millions who are technically 'legal' but who have blagged their way over on student visas, holiday visas, family dependants, 'essential workers' (waiter in a curry house, nail bar technicians, car wash attendants)

@theriptorn @1980_greenwood @DouglasKMurray Why change the subject? They asked to get mullered, and that's what they got. And a jolly good job to.

@TalkTV @TVKev @IsabelOakeshott Is there any 'power' that medical staff have to forcibly inject a patient who refuses to co-operate? I'm pretty sure they would be prosecuted unless the patient was 'sectioned' and I doubt that they are allowed to section people just for the purposes of injecting them.

@1980_greenwood @DouglasKMurray He doesn't need to 'omit' something that's completely obvious and not relevant to the point he's making. But just for clarity, it is a wasteland because the Palestinians asked for it.

@TimesRadio @TiceRichard @afneil Any attempt to merge with the Tories will severely damage Reform. Firstly, the Tories don't have a comprehensive notion of their own identity at the moment, and secondly, there are indeed so many liberals within the Tory Party that just would not align with Reform values.

@IvorSmittens @LeoKearse My bad. I thought that withholding bail was only done when the intention was to remand to prison.

@benleo444 One of the first concentration camps used by the Germans in 1933 was at Dachau, near Munich, and was used primarily to hold political prisoners who dissented from the Socialist ideals of what later became the Nazi Party. History is repeating itself.

@davethewoodsman @tomhfh I'm not so sure. This will incentivise them to buy from US producers, and incentivise manufacturers to move production to the US, creating jobs. We should be more like that, making our own clothes and phones rather than foreign child labour.

@BassmanBowman @tomhfh The cost of employing someone is not just the wage cost. The UK has the worst productivity as for every worker making something, there are more who are auditing, doing HR, IT, managing etc. than in the US or most of Europe.

@tomhfh I think his point is that, whilst burning the American flag might not be unlawful, citizens would probably take matters into their own hands and the 'offender' might well find themselves in a lot of pain, if not worse.

@BBCPolitics I find it hard to believe that engineers and doctors have caused this rise in violence. It must be a coincidence.

@DaveAtherton20 We need to be able to hear exactly what was said in Court, and see what lies the father's solicitor told the Court. We need to stop bent solicitors from lying.

Estimated value of top 1% of UK population is £2.8 Trillion. If 1 in 20 of these die each year (assuming they are typically over 60 yrs old), then at 40% tax, it would raise £56 Billion per year. But only £7.5 Billion is raised each year from IHT. And this is only the top 1%. The properly wealthy do not pay IHT.
