This weekend I will make history for Nigeria🇳🇬 as the 1st African athlete to compete in bobsleigh at the BMW IBSF World Chams. This is the FIRST time ever the continent of Africa will be represented in bobsleigh at a World Champs in the 100 years since

was founded.🌟
That GOLDEN moment🏅
✅ FIRST African athlete to compete in bobsleigh at the IBSF World Championships
✅Nigeria🇳🇬 is the FIRST African nation to be represented in bobsleigh at a World Championships in the 100 year history of

✅Top 20 in my World Champ debut🏆
Reflecting on one of my proudest moments from making history @ the IBSF World Champs. After a shaky 1st run, I bounced back with a strong 2nd run, shattering my PB. This proud moment shows the indomitable spirit of Nigerians. No matter what...Naija no dey give up! 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬

Being the 1st African to compete in bobsleigh at the IBSF World Championships, I’m familiar with facing challenges head-on. During my training sessions in the water, hair can’t be a concern. Nike Swim plays a vital role in conquering challenges in the water. Stay tuned for more.
I’ve primarily self-funded my dream to become a 2-time Olympian & represent a wider spectrum of humanity at the Winter Olympics. Funding my dream to compete in 1 of the most expensive Olympic sports isn’t easy. W/about 6 months to go, I won’t be able to get there w/o your help.
*Today is the day!* In honour of

Upon returning home from bobsleigh season, an MRI detected a full rupture of a muscle in my lower hamstring. Although the extent of the injury was initially unknown, I fought through the last 4 races of the season, including my historic World Champs debut.
Here’s your chance to see the Beijing 2022 Olympic track the way I see it! The track aka “snow dragon” is the longest in the world at 1,975 m. It has a vertical drop of 121m & 16 curves, including a unique 360-degree turn. Speed=up to 125 kmph Time= as fast as in 61+ seconds.
Few make history. Fewer change it.
Before Jan. 14th, no African athlete had ever reached the top of the podium. That all changed when I won the Europe Cup monobob race in Winterberg🇩🇪 & became the 1st Nigerian and African athlete to take home the gold in an

I want to take a moment to celebrate this significant barrier that took a century to break. Too often our historic contributions are not recognized, undervalued and forgotten. So as we celebrate BHM, I’m honored to write another chapter in the new future of sport.
Thank you
@Nike
for helping create a safe space for Black women to share their experience with the water.

Introducing the
@Nike
Swim Voluminous Hair Cap. Created as a catalyst to make the water a more accessible place, it was made for thick or voluminous hair & offers a stress-free, secure fit for all of your swim needs. B/c hair should never be an obstacle to the joy of swimming.
This first will be forever recorded in history, paving the way for greater access and inclusion in the primarily Eurocentric, male dominated sport of bobsleigh. This historic moment is a testament to hard work and dreaming more than others think is practical.
As I break this barrier on the ice, through the work of the

W/ PBs, I raced for an unprecedented feat & earned a decisive victory. In a Eurocentric, male dominated sport, some didn't expect to see an African woman atop the podium. There wasn't even a Nigerian flag & anthem on hand for the awards ceremony (luckily I had my own flag☺️).
ADD ANOTHER TOP 🔟 FOR THE SEASON!🎉🥳
10th place at the European Cup 🏆 monobob race in Innsbruck, Austria (Igls)🇦🇹 tying my personal best and Nigerian national record🇳🇬 and African record (55.76s)🌍.
