@jasonhickel It wasn't only ovaHerero & Nama who were affected by the German colonial genocide. Damara/ǂNūkhoen & San were significant victims too. The 1st study of the genocide (published 1918) estimated the following figures: ovaHerero losses at 80%, Damara/ǂNūkhoen at 57% & Nama at 50%.

I know people living in these kinds of structures in #Namibia's so-called informal settlements. Whilst the rain will be very welcome, the flooding & washing away of people's insubstantial homes is devastating 💔
Flooding after heavy rains on Friday left many Windhoek residents in informal settlements homeless, as their shacks and properties were washed away. Areas most affected include Otjomuise in the Khomasdal constituency, as well as Goreangab and Havana
