Apparently the worst thing that can happen to a team winning the Presidents Trophy in record setting fashion is facing Sergei Bobrovsky in the first round.
The Hawks:
2020: We're fully committed to rebuilding.
2021: Wait, Seth Jones is available?! Screw rebuilding, let's go for it now!
2022: Just kidding, we're rebuilding again.
Here's the clip of Kevin Brown's pregame comments on the Orioles' recent record against the Rays ahead of a series finale on July 23. Sources tell AA these comments led to Brown's current indefinite suspension from Orioles' broadcasts.
Those who guessed Vasilevskiy are correct. Leads all goaltenders in retrievals leading to exits.
- Shesterkin leads in overall exits but some turnovers have hurt him.
- Mike Smith is in a class of his own.
- The Avs goaltenders generally do not play the puck.
So, I really needed a big increase in patronage/income to continue doing NHL data tracking after this year. I'm double where I was last year in terms of subscribers & almost to the point where I can do this full-time comfortably. I appreciate everyone who subscribes & shares.
I'm talking myself into the idea that Colorado wiping the floor with everyone in the playoffs would be good for the sport/league, but Tampa Bay did that last year and the only thing hockey men took away from it was "Coleman/Goodrow are big and hit people."
Getting Dougie Hamilton changed the Hurricanes franchise. It was the first time in forever they added someone who could make a difference at the top of the roster & he was a super likeable/fun player. This sucks a lot.
Incredible weekend surrounded by some amazing people. Thank you to everyone who made the trek to the Midwest to celebrate with
@backhandshots
& I. We are so excited to begin married life together.
Gorton and Hughes needed a goalie, so they went out and found one with a career NHL save percentage better than Hasek and Dryden, and younger than Carey Price 🔥🔥🔥
The TSN story said that Aliu confronted Peters about his racism and it resulted in him getting sent to the ECHL after BP whined to ownership. Yet people are flocking to Kylington today expecting him to say something.
Caretakers (GM’s/NHL brass) don’t want a game where judgment in officiating isn’t part of it. This has always been the pushback used against more video review. Tim Peel made a mistake, but an overhaul of the officiating standard because of a mic mishap is an overreaction.
So, the statcap for Dougie Hamilton tonight is kind of insane. Led all players in 5v5 minutes, outshot the Isles 32-7 with him on the ice, four individual scoring chances and eight shot attempts. Also a 92 xGF% according to Natural Stat Trick.
"I thought I was going to be tried to be shut down by Phillip Danault," says Mark Scheifele. "Instead it was department of player safety that shut me down."
Look, all I'll say is that the signing is just a rumor and all I'm seeing from the fanbase is how they've already talked to someone about canceling their season tickets. It's not a small number of people who don't want this to happen.
I get more annoyed at the backpedaling on the expansion draft than anything. Like everyone expected a team headlined by Nate Schmidt & James Neal to win the West in Year 1.
I don’t understand the notion that Vegas could be winning a Cup “too early” and being jerks to their fans- we can have a discussion about expansion rules, but imo I’d be more angry that whatever team I’m a fan of is incompetent over generations vs taking it out on Vegas fans.
