Shropshire Council have been nominated for the Celebrating Forces Families awards in the Public Service category. The nomination is in recognition for the outstanding work we do to support our Armed Forces Community. We will find out in January if we’ve made the shortlist.

Seven members of the Market Drayton Royal British Legion recently visited Northern France and Belgium on a Battlefield Study of The Somme and Ypres campaigns, along with a group from The Royal Irish Association. Within the group was our Armed Forces Champion Cllr Ian Nellins.

On the 20th March an Interservices match is taking place between the RAF and the Navy. The Women's match kicks off at 1400hrs at Park Hall, Oswestry followed by the Men's match at 1900hrs at Shrewsbury Town FC. Admission for both games is free.
