First, an intradermal wheal is obtained and local anaesthesia is then performed to the deeper subcutaneous tissues.. ●#Correct Site There are two Fascia Layers 1.Fascia Lata 2.Fascia Iliaca .. Femoral Vein & Artery are located between Fascia Lata & Iliaca ,while Femoral Nerve is located more laterally underneath Facia Iliaca . So it means Femoral artery & nerves are separated by Fascia iliaca .. So if we inject near Femoral artery ,it will result inadequate analgesia due to barrier of fascia So give anaesthesia at proper site near nerve by piercing both layers of fascia . ... (A characteristic double-pop should be felt as the needle passes through the fascia lata and fascia iliaca where the anesthetic should be released.) .. ●#How to reduce Burning Sensation Lidocaine is mixed with sodium bicarbonate (1mL of 1mEq/mL NaHCO3 solution in 10mL of 1% lidocaine) reduces burning sensation associated with the injection of lidocaine preparations ●#If Lidocaine Allergy . Procaine-based anaesthetic (1% chloroprocaine).
