I often photo my old oak grove of trees from the house. Here’s a photo from the other side. Avg height 75-90 ft. That’s on 1.25 acres. Several oak varieties: cherry, pin, and water oak, mostly About 50 trees in the photo, we have 90 total. On my back 40, I have a 360+yr old water oak (documented by USFS and USFS-AR). The old Dardanelle Paris railroad came through this property. Notably the #MoPac2522 . Rail purpose was to haul timber and coal from the region. Lots of #History under our noses if we look a little. #SLFarm

Absorbing what I got the other day at the library (3 counties away). It’s a super big one so they have all kinds of goodies including locale genealogy history that is ONLY on paper, so must be viewed in person in the reference room. Superb staff. I could spend the rest of my days going there in the microfilm room to read the archived newspapers pre dating 1880. And on my way out, saw their parked “Book Mobile” bus which is now no longer in use except special events. What a blast from the past, I had very good summers that including visiting ours every 2 weeks. Nice memories. Aside, doing some private Biblical Hebrew studies (as simple as one can get), and procrastinating on taxes (rare for me). What a combination 😂

They have ones that use sealed barrel cartridges and not vat ink, if that appeals to you. Benefits of old school, but free of any mess. At their store I could try one out. I also had to keep up too with my guy engineer coworkers! But never buy a used one. They develop a memory to the user. If you used mine, it probably wouldn’t work (gaps, or thin ink). They also “know” if you’re left or right handed. I was the only righty in my family so no one could use mine! 😂 😝 I’m picky about mechanical pencil sizes, so I liked I could pick a “nib” size. It’s not an impulsive buy. Yes it’s a slower writing style. We move too fast. IMO but i grew up in a slow world before I joined the ultra commodity fast lane. Took me years to slow down after retiring. I still move faster than people where I live, but I can’t move THAT slow!

I’ve had both. What good is the money if you’re almost dead, eat out (ultra processed foods), and spend more on medical. And, pay higher taxes to do it. My high stress, endless adrenaline career almost literally killed me in 2010. That’s exactly what I do - feed birds, read my hardback books, have one social account so I can peak at what I’m missing now.

AS usual, we are on the “can’t decide” line. Stay away ice!!
