@TheVedrenne @RichStearns I would argue against this position. The US has been providing humanitarian aid for decades. And we are simultaneously the world's wealthiest country. Both can, and do, exist together.

@dialogizwmetha Jesus didn't command us to take care of our next-door neighbors. He commanded Christians to go to the ends of the Earth.

@dialogizwmetha @RichStearns It isn't just the US. Germany, the EU, Saudi Arabia, the UK, France, Japan, Canada and Spain. Most of these countries built an incredible amount of wealth from the natural resources and labor of underdeveloped countries.

@manofmitten @RichStearns You are implying hungry people don’t work? That is such an ignorant and heartless take.

@jimpfaff @RichStearns lol. If those other countries aren’t “Christian” , isn’t that just more justification to do it? Feed the hungry and spread the gospel? And your second point has nothing to do with religion.

@TheVedrenne @RichStearns That’s a naive response. We should be doing both things at the same time. Make the government assistance efficient. Don’t eliminate it. It is good for our farmers also.

@forestbreathing @mikeastahl @amyklobuchar And how is this a lie? Are you saying the funding isn’t getting cut? Or the money won’t be used to support tax cuts for the rich?

@_Effin_ @SandSharkSec @ChrisMurphyCT Look, I don't think anyone is against identifying and eliminating waste. But let's do it in an intelligent manner, with a scalpel and not a chainsaw. I think this would have been a great opportunity to use a bipartisan approach. It would be nice to work together on something.

@_HBIC40 @LivingZDreamTX @Bhindenemylinez @WalshFreedom Stopping payment of funds that have already been approved by Congress and the President. He does not have the power to fire any government employee, only certain ones. And he does not have the power to offer early retirement packages. Those funds would need to come from Congress.

@BraveToaster3 @MayrandCassie @SenSchumer The President only has the power to fire certain government employees.

@dmnbyr @liberalismONCMD @DanLamothe I personally think hiring someone with his proven lack of character will ultimately embarrass the taxpayers. Time will tell. But for this position, I think a history of high character and self-control should be a prerequisite.

@RomaB @hereandnowrobin I'm not a Democrat. I was a Republican for 30+ years. Now I am just an American. I will vote for the best candidate regardless of party affiliation.
