shoutout to my white coworker who wore a BLM shirt to work yesterday and when administration provided her with a different shirt to wear, she clocked out and went home. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Last week some girl at a bus stop threw a rock and hit my mom’s car so she slammed on her brakes & reversed back up to the bench. The girl took off running so my mom parked her car and sat on the bench until the girl missed her bus. And now I know why I am the way I am.
We discussed my lifestyle, eating habits, health history, skin care history and routine. Then she recommended some changes that I make. This is my skin the day of my consultation.
@caveofbeauty
is literally a godsend. My skin had made me extremely self-conscious and took me back to my younger years when I was made fun of for my acne. I had begun calling off work on my bad skin days and my coworkers teased that I had “coronavirus on my face.”
It wasn’t an overnight fix, but the transformation in 3 months is insane. I’m not scared to leave the house without makeup on anymore and my skin is so much healthier.
Also, I’m biracial. I chose
@caveofbeauty
because I’m done trusting white dermatologists with my skin. Not only is she knowledgeable about skin, but she knows how to treat black skin which is important to me.
I firmly believe everything works out exactly how it’s supposed to. The outcome may not be what you want at that moment, but in hindsight, it’s what you needed.
If you’re a black doctor/nurse in ANY sort of medical field or even STUDYING to be: shout yourself out!
We need more of you and I wanna see something. 🥹❤️ 🙏🏽 🏥
For reference: I don’t drink soda, eat relatively healthy, workout 5 days a week, work night shift (my morning and evening routine were switched to accommodate that), and I’m an RN so I wear a mask for 12 hours straight sometimes. I did not change any of these things.
My professor gave me 2 months to write a research paper and I cranked the thing out in 1 hr right before our meeting and she said “wow I can tell you put a lot of time and effort into this.” Girl I sure did.
So my hard working mama is a full time 7th grade teacher, part time state test grader, and tomorrow she starts her first day as a professor at UC! I’m so proud of her. She works from sun up to sun down, but she loves working with her students.
I just need to talk about how my hair has been straight for the past 2 months and I wore it natural to work yesterday and one of my coworkers felt the need to ask me if I brushed my hair before I came to work. I’m calling HR.
I’m only in my 4th month of being a registered nurse, but I absolutely love what I do. It blows my mind how many lives I’ve helped save in such a short amount of time. I was meant to do this.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I hate when businesses don’t take me seriously or talk to me like I’m a kid because I look young. I hear how you speak to the other people here, I expect the same respect and customer service.
Elijah really just said “you act tough on the outside, but I could tell you that you have a big ass forehead and you would cry and not talk to me for an hour” and I honestly feel so attacked right now. I’m going to cry.
Woke up 25 min before my final, parked with 5 min to spare and forgot to put money in the meter. Finished my exam and came out to no ticket on my car 🙌🏽
I went to Kroger straight from work in scrubs and with my badge on and this lady stopped me and said “Thank you for all you do and being a nurse.” I almost cried. 😭

But I felt like my skin wasn’t improving at all. I came across
@caveofbeauty
on here and I looked through her work. She was offering virtual consultations so I scheduled one.
I’ve always struggled with acne since I was in middle school. I tried all the usual medications: doxycycline, monocycline, erythromycin, tretinoin, etc. Nothing worked. I took Accutane for 7 months when I was 15. My skin was flawless. The only time I ever got a pimple after that
Nadia, a 4-year-old Malayan tiger at the Bronx Zoo in New York has tested positive for coronavirus. This is the first known instance of a tiger being infected, the USDA says.
After about 3 weeks of using those products my skin became irritated. It was red, sensitive, itchy, painful, burning, raw, and stinging all the time. I stopped using the products, but my skin still hurt.
Outraged neighbors are beginning to gather in the Russell neighborhood of Louisville after waking up to news that David "Yaya" McAtee was murdered by the LMPD and National Guard last night outside of his beloved BBQ stand.

Alonzo’s “friends” set him up. If you go to a party together, you leave together. Period. Also, they were hiding his body somewhere until it was found.
