@cellisut I feel that’s critically important because mainstream GOP members in UT are why the Party dominates election results, not due to fewer than 200 members of the SCC saying what a “true” GOP is. I believe the base of the Party should decide it’s standard bearer, not a relative few.

@RussJRampton I disagree a bit. Not wholly though. I believe that a lot of the internal discord is a function of two main things: 1. It’s a place many SCC members feel heard and enjoy speaking in an echo chamber; 2. Many haven’t served on a cohesive and/or effective board, and it shows.

@sorrogrande Thankfully, no. But given some of the bogged-down conversation on small-issue items, it may have felt that the list was that lengthy.

@cellisut That’s an interesting proposal. In theory at least, it’d still grant some sort of bicameral perspective to be at play - executive members elected at a statewide convention by a significantly larger number of GOP faithful and the SCC members elected by county delegates.

@cellisut I will agree, it’s too large. While much smaller than 4,000 state delegates, it’s still unwieldy. I also believe some members of the SCC look past the fact that while they are elected by the respective counties, the executive members are elected by those ~4k state delegates.
